Newborn Photography Oakville / Burlington
As a newborn photographer, my aim is to provide a stress-free portrait experience that results in beautiful, timeless images of your family with your new baby.
We offer two types of newborn sessions
1. Studio sessions – Studio Rental Booking Fee Applies.
We arrange a studio booking at one of our preferred bright and airy studio locations in Hamilton or Burlington. Studio sessions are an option if you do not have a home with a lot of natural light. Something to factor into a decision about whether to choose a studio session is if you will feel up for leaving your home in the first week of your baby’s life. An advantage of a studio session is you can just bring your diaper bag and everything you need will be provided at the studio. I recommend planning to have your studio session when your baby is up to four weeks old. They tend to be sleepier during this time, easier to swaddle and pose in your arms, on our posing beanbag, and with siblings.
2. In-home Lifestyle Sessions
An in-home lifestyle session is an option if you want to capture baby’s first days in their home environment and you have a good amount of natural light streaming into your home from the windows. Neutral and light paint colours on the walls of the rooms in your home, is important to create the bright, airy and clean look that you see in my images. In our pre-planning consult, we will talk about how to prepare your home best for your session.
We can capture your baby in their beautiful nursery, and your family adoring this new bundle you have welcomed. Think snuggles on the living room couch, or quiet moments with your baby near a beautiful window with lovely light.
These sessions can take place at any age with your baby, but typically if you would like to capture them in that phase when they are new (and sleepier), I recommend planning for a lifestyle session when your baby is under two months old.
There will be a bit of de-cluttering and cleaning required on your part in one or two rooms where we will capture the images. Keep this in mind and plan to have someone help you, since you may be still recovering from your birth.
Your images will tell the story of your baby’s first moments at home, in a natural and candid style, using gentle direction and guidance.
